Warehouse first-due pocket card

Water first, doors with fire control, on-deck early.

On arrival

  • Read the occupancy: house tactics or high-risk commercial shell?
  • Complete the 360, or assign the next unit to finish it.
  • Get a positive water supply before going deep interior.

Fire attack

  • Match line size to fuel load and area.
  • Consider 2½-inch lines or monitors for defensive operations.
  • Open doors only with fire-control coordination.
  • Watch the wind.

Command and crews

  • Stage an on-deck crew forward; backfill it when used.
  • Expand command early.
  • Give conditions, actions, needs (CAN) reports and benchmarks.
  • Keep crews together: no freelance splits.
  • Call the Mayday early.
  • Activate the personal alert safety system (PASS); give air and location.
  • Know thermal imaging camera (TIC) white-out and no-contrast limits.

Before the call

  • Assume occupancy may have changed.
  • Verify current use against the building shell.

Based on NIOSH F2025-09 and NFPA 1700 warehouse considerations.
